I fell in love with my boat the first time I saw her but now I’m off on new adventures. So after 5 years, it’s time to sell my stunning 125 year old Dutch Barge. Elisabeth is moored in Limehouse in Zone 2 right next to the DLR. It takes 6 minutes on the DLR to get to Bank and it’s a 30 minute walk to Tower Bridge and a 15 minute walk to Canary Wharf. The mooring has water, electricity and wifi, this is boujie boat living.

Limehouse is a sought after mooring because of its location and its incredible community. It’s virtually impossible to get a spot here. Moored in the East End it’s near all the cool places like Shoreditch and Victoria Park and is 10 mins on the DLR to London Bridge. We have great walks, secret “beaches” and amazing pubs like Sir Ian McKellen’s pub The Grapes and the Star of The East.

This has been without doubt my favourite and creative place I’ve ever lived. I’ve made some of my best work here, there’s something about being on the water that really helps with inspiration.  Lot’s of the community is made up of people who work in the creative industries; we have musicians, actors, designers. Sandi Toksvig used to live next door. I have fond memories of sitting in a paddling pool with her on the pontoon drinking Champagne that the Sun newspaper had given her in way of apology for a misprint. You have to pay monthly mooring fees but as Elisabeth is an old working girl and considered Historic she is VAT exempt.

If you’d like a nose around hit me up and I’d be delighted to show you around. Email me info@victoriamelody.com

Here’s the Blurb

De Vrouwe Elisabeth is a historic Dutch Barge built in 1898 and renovated beautifully by Pea Green Studio. She has had a complete exterior and interior renovation. The finished Barge has a simple, Scandinavian influenced interior with a focus on the space-saving layout, allowing for plenty of hidden storage and flexible use of rooms.

She was dry docked in 2020 when she underwent extensive restoration works costing £45,000 as the previous owners wanted to invest in the future of this classic boat. The engine was overhauled by Marine Services. The hull was fully shot blasted and she underwent full hull repairs to below and above waterline. Elisabeth is in incredible condition and she does not have to come out of water again till 2030 as insurers were satisfied that  the full shot blasting of hull and full paintwork job covered a ten-year period.

Elisabeth was originally a working boat delivering peat around Holland. As she is considered a classic and historic working boat her moorings do not attract VAT. Elisabeth is a wonderful and luxurious boat to live on. Onboard is full of mod cons such as a full-size dishwasher, washing machine, power shower, filter water and many more home comforts. She comes furnished and with all the brass fixtures and fittings.
