Brighton Festival made me keep it a secret that I have been working on a new project over the last year called “The Enthusiasts”. Audiences are invited into two extraordinary communities for an intimate auditory experience. Taking place at two secret locations across Brighton, these site-specific events uncover communities on the brink of change as their traditional methods clash with new ways of thinking. It’s a unique adventure into the secret and the sacred.
Both shows “Funeral Directors and Pigeon Fanciers” sold out in record time but if you nag Brighton Festival maybe they will bring us back next year.
Solo Female and Female Identifying Theatremakers Collective
Sarah Louise Young and I have started up a a collective to help offer support and advice for solo female and female identifying theatremakers. Working alone is hard so we wanted to create something that is like an open plan office where you can swivel your chair around and ask a question. We are going to hold our first online panel event on 7th March at midday about touring and pitching to venues. The panel will consist of myself and @slytheatremaker and producer extraordinaire @faithdodkins. Email me for the link and also if you want a link to our growing community.
Head Set National Tour
My favourite ever show to perform Head Set is going on an extensive tour this Autumn. If you are a venue and would like it, get in touch as we are about to close the book on bookings.
Culture I’ve been loving: I haven’t been out as much but these are my latest recommendations.
A Bunch of Amateurs
Vivienne Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist
DJ Fat Tony – I Don’t Take Requests (I listened to the audio book because I love the way he speaks)
